Act 3, Scene 4: Honeymoon to the Rescue!

Setting: We're on the Abandoned Barnacle during a nice sunny day. The Barnacle has been decorated colorfully for the wedding of Thomas and Cassandra, and all the crew is there! A little stage made of boxes has been erected in the middle! Near [2] there's a little box with a circular antenna on top that has a little spark gap in it, and a bell attached to it, and a pair of old timey headphones hanging from a little hook. It has lots of crude knobs and scales on it. It's about as big as a fully grown puppet.

Franklin: "Yeah, if someone had told me that she would one day marry CARL ... out of everybody ... I'd told them they're crazy!"

Baldwin (chuckles): "Dinnae let him hear that name!"

Franklin: "I know, I know, I'm just joking."

Helena: "*sigh* I'm going to miss the old days of piracy!"

Helmut: "I won't - let's face it, we're all not getting younger - and what's better than sailing the five seas on a regular hire!"

Franklin: "Not to mention health insurance! And 6 weeks of shore leave!"

Baldwin: "Hah! A' this so-called 'civilised' human pish! It'll never catch on. Whot's the point o' life if ye cannae slit the throat o' some fat, bloated rich bugger noo an' then?"

Helmut: "Seems like Thomas hasn't told you about unions yet, did he?"

Baldwin: "Naw, why?"

Helena: "Soooooo, Franklin ..."

Franklin: "Uh yes?"

Helena: "Now that Thomas and Sandra are tying the knot ... are you finally going to propose to me?"

Franklin: "Uhmm ... I dunno ..."

Helena: "Oh, please?"

Franklin: "Maybe ... some time ..."

Helena: "Please? Please? Please?"

Franklin: "Baldwin, help me! This sailor is harassing me!"

Baldwin: "Ye just need tae say the magic words!"

%ACT% Avery comes in behind Borax. (He is a portly, well-dressed man wearing a stethoscope.)

Franklin: "Oh! Look! There comes the lab rat, shit's going to get real!"

%ACT% Borax stands on the little stage near [5] and bows!

Borax: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to this purr-fect union of unlikely love. Today, we gather not just to witness a wedding, but to celebrate the bond between whiskers and wagging tails! Bring forth the happy couple!"

%ACT% Cassandra and Thomas come in from [7, 2nd], walk past the little stage and stop in front (towards [7]) of the main mast.

%ACT% Cassandra and Thomas join Borax on the stage.

Borax: "Before I commence with the ceremony, I want to say a few very personal words of gratitude! If it wasn't for you, none of us would be here today. Not you, not me, and especially not my beloved Avery!"

%ACT% Borax looks fondly at Avery next to him as he says this.

%PRE% PRE-3402 - Avery: "Yeah, thank you so much guys, I don't know what I would have done without you."

%ACT% Avery returns his look and puts a hand on Borax's shoulder.

Borax: "But you saved not only your friends, but everyone else in this world from the poisonous mind of Jeffrey Arkenstone. Together, we were able to accomplish what seemed impossible just a few months ago. From the ashes of the old Order, we have built something new, something beautiful, making sure that no soul will ever be lost again. It is a tremendous honor to be here with you today, and finally ask the questions that you've all been waiting for!"

Borax: "Thomas, do you vow to respect this cat's deadly curiosity, the naps, and the occasional gifts of dead critters on your doormat?"

Thomas: "Yes, I do."

Borax: "Then by the powers vested in me by the sun, the moon, and the captain of this ship, I hereby pronounce you CATS and DOGS, living together!"

%HND% Two indicator light bulbs blink alternately on the little box.

Borax: "Oh no, not now! This is way to soon! We're not ready yet!"

Cassandra: "What are you talking about? Real pirates are always ready!"

%ACT% Borax jumps off the stage and runs towards the box with the bell on it.

%PRE% PRE-3405 - Avery: "Ex-Pirates, my dear! No more looting, just rescuing, hear me?"

%ACT% Borax is shouting over his shoulder as he runs to the box.

Borax: "Listen to Avery, you rogues! Don't make work for him!"

%ACT% Borax hits a button on the box, and puts on the headphones.

%SND% SND-3406 - Morsebuzzing

%HND% A little electric arc buzzes between the spark gap of the antenna with the Morse code.

Borax: "Yes! YES! IT WORKS! We're getting a message ... a new lost soul has appeared ... a fisherman, they're on a boat south of Vigo Island!"

Cassandra: "Then what are we waiting for! Let's go and give them the welcome they deserve!"

Borax: "Are you sure you're ready to do this? We haven't even written down half of the procedures yet! First, tell the new soul what happened, and that they're not going insane!"

Franklin: "You don't have to teach me that!"

Borax: "Secondly, support their next of kin who might have lost a loved one!"

Cassandra: "I know exactly how that feels! I'm ready!"

Borax: "Third, get them acquainted with their new body!"

Thomas: "I'm an expert on that! I can even show them how to pee!"

%ACT% Thomas starts to lift one leg, but Cassandra pushes it back down.

Borax: "And finally, make them feel that they're not alone in a distant world. That we, the world wide network of soulseekers are there to pick them up!"

Cassandra: "ALL HANDS! MAN YOUR BATTLE STATIONS! WEIGH ANCHOR! HOIST THE SAILS! AND SET COURSE! Let's make sure no new arrival in this world ever becomes a lost soul again! SOUL SEEKERS TO THE RESCUE!"
